8 Luxury Items I Always Take Backpacking

A great lightweight sit pad to have on hand while camping, hiking, or backpacking. A sit pad is lighter and has more uses than even the lightest of backpacking chairs.
I always pack it along, just in case.

I’d rather carry 10 extra pounds on my backpacking trip than have to wake up in the woods without coffee. This collapsible dripper is lightweight, folds down to almost nothing, and makes sipping fresh ground coffee in the backwoods a breeze.
Sirui 52″ Aluminum Alloy Tripod
My tripod is definitely the heaviest and bulkiest luxury item I bring camping, but what can you do? For the price point, it’s a great lightweight and relatively compact tripod. One day, I’ll splurge on the Peak Design Travel tripod, but that day isn’t today.
A Good Book!
Would it make more sense to backpack with a Kindle? Yes.
But, if I’m already knee-deep in a series like I am Throne of Glass, I’m going to bring the book, no matter how big or bulky. There’s nothing better than setting up camp and settling into your book until dinner. Well worth the weight and space.
